Custom design-build detached barn addition located in Lone Tree, Colorado. Several areas of the construction process was self-performed by WATERMEIER, such as the cedar barn doors fabrication and custom metal awnings and sliding door rail install. This project consists largely of sustainable material practices. The cladding is Resysta Siding, an open joint composite architectural wall cladding. Made from recyclable, wood-free composite material derived from rice husks. The material is made up of approximately 60% rice husks, 22% rock salt, and 18% mineral oil. This design formula offers superior resistance to water, insects, and decay. Another main material is the use of CVG Cedar. Clear vertical grain cedar was utilized for the garage door cladding, custom sliding barn doors we fabricated, and for the vaulted ceiling decking. The gable ends of the facade host large black powder coated awnings and barn door track systems that were designed by us, and submitted and fabricated by a local design build steel fabricator in Denver.
